Theme- Biodiversity

Three categories: 1.Cartoon/Drawing/Poster Making Competition 
                               2. Mobile Video Making Competition
               
Groups of Student: 1. Class V to VIII
                                2. Class IX to XII

14th Edition Scholastic Writing Awards (SWA) 2020

Dear Students it is a great privilege for me to announce that there is a competition  conduct for those students who are interested in STORY WRITING. There is a competition conducted by SCHOLASTIC India at a large national level platform.Students who are interested can register themselves through this link  http://swa.scholastic.co.in/#/login  No charge is applicable.

 Registrations and submissions will be closing on 30^th June, 2020!

It will be conducted in 2 grade groups comprising children of Grades 4-6 and 7-9.

·   The top 10 winners (top 5 from both the groups) will be published in an anthology.   

·   The top 10 winners (top 5 from both the groups) will also be entitled to a writing residency                   workshop with a renowned author to further hone and improve upon their skills followed by an        awards ceremony and book launch event.

·   The top 6 winners (top 3 from both the groups) will also get an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite.

·   The top 50 stories (top 25 from both the groups) will be published as kindle editions on Amazon.

WORLD BOOK AND COPYRIGHT DAY 2020

World Book Day is celebrated by UNESCO on April 23 every year. April 23 is a symbolic date for world literature because on this date in 1616 that Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. Hence, to pay tribute to the great literary figures the day was selected.

World Book Day 2020: Theme

Each year, UNESCO and the international organizations representing select the World Book Capital for a one-year period, effective 23 April each year.

As per UNESCO, this year the city of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia was selected as the World Book Capital for 2020 because of the strong focus on inclusive education, the development of a knowledge-based society and accessible reading for all parts of the city's population, with the slogan "KL Baca - caring through reading".

The program focuses on four themes:

• Reading in all its forms
• Development of the book industry infrastructure
• Inclusiveness and digital accessibility
• Empowerment of children through reading
• People spending time at home can download a good book through the internet and read positive books and gaining knowledge.

  According to UNESCO, "Books: A Window into the World during COVID-19."

  On this World Book and Copyright Day 2020, celebrate the importance of reading, foster children's growth as readers, and promote a lifelong love of literature and integration into the world of work.

PAINTING COMPETITION ON DR. B R AMBEDKAR JAYANTI

Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti is an annual festival observed on 14th April to commemorate the memory of Dr. B R Ambedkar. This year ann E-competition of painting was organised on Dr. Ambedkar, on his life and work by Shiksha Sanskrit Utthan Nyas for school students. Students from our school participated in that competition and all of them completed their drawings beautifully. In spite of the lock down period  the necessary actions were taken through What's App, E-mails and Blog updates to successfully conduct the event and I found students are very energetic the positive about any work they are given.
